SINCE 1984, WE HAVE BEEN ON THE FOREFRONT OF DEVELOPMENT.  RESPONDING TO INDUSTRY STANDARDS WHICH ARE QUITE OLD; FRANKLY UNSUSTAINABLE AND ANTIQUATED, WE DEVELOPED FASP®, A SLOTTED ANGLED PIPE AND SYSTEM DESIGN WITH YEARS OF HISTORICAL DATA SUPPORTING DEFINITIVE OUTCOMES.

R & D PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN THE SUCCESS OF DALLAS DRAIN AS IT SHOULD WITH ANY COMPANY.  SOIL MOISTURE DATA, TEST TANK AND BUNKER SIMULATIONS IN VARYING RAINFALLS, PIPE STRENGTH UNDER WEIGHT DISPERSION IN GRAVEL, SIGNAL STRENGTH IN CELLULAR TRANSMITTORS AND A GROW TANK TO MONITOR ROOT BEHAVIOR IN DIFFERENT FRENCH DRAIN PRODUCTS ARE ONLY A FEW ONGOING STUDY AND SIMULATIONS.  THE DATA FROM THESE GIVES US AN INDELIBLE UNDERSTANDING OF WATER BEHAVIOR IN VARYING SITUATIONS.

ONCE A CONDUIT IS CREATED (AS IN EROSION), WATER WILL CONSISTENTLY FOLLOW THAT PATH AS IT HAS BECOME LEAST RESISTENT.  THINK OF WATER RUNNING DOWN THE SIDE OF A HILL; CREATING FINGERS OF EROSION.  IF WATER HAS FOUND ITS WAY UNDER A SLAB OR CRAWL SPACE IT NOW HAS AN EXACT PATH THAT IT FOLLOWS EACH AND EVERY TIME AND WILL ONLY WIDEN.  THE SLIGHTEST RAIN OR IRRIGATION WILL FIND THE LOWEST POINT AND TRAVEL TO THAT POINT.  ONCE THE CONDUIT IS CREATED, TO RE-DIRECT ITS FLOW IS MOST CHALLENGING, REQUIRING A PROPERLY DESIGNED AND INSTALLED SYSTEM WELL BELOW THE POINT OF ENTRY, WELL BELOW THE FOOTING.

WE SAW THAT CORRUGATED PIPE WITH FILTER CLOTH, MOST COMMONLY USED, PRESENTS 2 CHALLENGES:
FILTER CLOTH AS WELL AS BELLIES IN THIS PIPE ARE EACH GROWTH MEDIUMS FOR ROOTS FINDING THEIR WAY TO THAT CONSTANT MOISTNESS, THEN CLOGGING THE PIPE. THESE SYSTEMS ARE EVERYWHERE AND SPEC'D BY RESPECTFUL PROFESSIONALS. WE PULL THESE FAIRLY NEW SYSTEMS OUT OF THE GROUND TOO OFTEN.  NOT ONLY MONIES SPENT, BUT NOW THERE IS A PRONOUNCED PROBLEM, A TRENCH OF WATER SURROUNDING YOUR STRUCTURE WITH NO WHERE TO GO.

WE NOTE PVC WITH ROUND HOLES SURROUNDING THE CIRCUMFERENCE, HOLES FACING DOWNWARD IN THE TRENCH.  A COUPLE OF IMPORTANT FACTORS COME TO OUR AWARENESS.  THE PIPE IS SIMPLY RELEASING WATER AS QUICKLY AS IT ENTERS, MEANING YOU NOW HAVE A TRENCH WITH A SYSTEM THAT DOESN'T COLLECT WATER, HOWEVER THE TRENCH DOES. 2ND, ROUND HOLES ARE NOT DESIGNED TO DRAW WATER OR TO CREATE TURBULENCE IN ORDER TO FLUSH SEDIMENT THROUGH THE SYSTEM.  NOW, ADD FILTER CLOTH OVER THE PIPE AND YOU HAVE AN INSTANT MEDIUM FOR CALCIFICATION AND ROOT ATTRACTION.  AGAIN WE REGRET PULLING THESE SYSTEMS OUT AS THEY HAVE EXACERBATED AN ALREADY EXISTING PROBLEM.

FROM OUR PRESIDENT'S EXPERIENCE DESIGNING HIGH VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR AND CONTROLS AT G.E., DALLAS DRAIN HAS DEVELOPED CONTROL SYSTEMS DESIGNED TO HELP HOMEOWNERS, BUILDERS, COMMERCIAL DEVELOPERS, ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS TO MONITOR ITEMS REMOTELY AND PROVIDE SERVICE DISPATCH CREWS TO CLEAR ANY OF SEVERAL ISSUES REQUESTED TO KEEP AN EYE ON.  FROM A SIMPLE PILOT LIGHT TO WARN OF PUMP MALFUNCTION TO A FASP GUARDIAN® TO REMOTELY MONITOR WATER LEVELS, POWER STATUS, VENTILATION, LIFT STATIONS, CONDENSATION PAN OVERFLOW, HARD FREEZE ALERT AND WOOD MOISTURE LEVELS.  AN ENORMOUS RELIEF TO MANY OF OUR BASEMENT CUSTOMERS.


         SPORTS FACILITIES R&D


DEVELOPED THROUGH OUR TESTING FACILITY TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS OF EVACUATING WATER FROM SPORTS PLAYING SURFACES. THE  FASP GREENWAY SYSTEM® REMOVES WATER FROM AT AN ASTOUNDING RATE TO PROVIDE LESS DOWN TIME AND MORE PLAY TIME FOR THESE FACILITIES.  THE TEST BUNKER AT OUR TEST SITE HAS DEMONSTRATED LONG TERM OUTCOMES, CONTINUALLY ERADICATING A SIMULATED 9" PER HOUR RAIN EVENT WITH NO ACCUMULATION OF WATER IN THE BUNKER. A QUICK RAKE JOB AND FIELD IS READY FOR PLAY.  THERE IS NO OTHER SYSTEM FOUND THAT CAN MATCH OUR SYSTEM'S SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE.

PROVIDING A MULTITUDE OF SYSTEMS TO COLLECT RAIN WATER, NUISANCE SUB-SURFACE WATER, AND / OR FASP® BASEMENT SYSTEMS INTO UNDERGROUND TANKS FOR USE IN IRRIGATION OR WATER FEATURES.  MANY BASEMENTS WE HAVE INSTALLED, COLLECT 3 TO 5 GALLONS PER MINUTE FROM BASEMENT DRAINAGE ALONE ON A CONSISTENT BASIS EQUALING 4000 TO 6000 GALLONS OF WATER EACH DAY FOR USE OR STORAGE.  95% OF THIS WATER PROVES TO BE CLEAN THROUGH DOCUMENTED LAB TESTS FOR USE WITH PLANTS AND SAFE FOR ANIMALS.
